Glyphosate Elisa Assay Residue Test Kit applies the principles of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to the determination of glyphosate. The sample to be tested is derivatized and then added, along with an antibody specific for glyphosate, to microtiter wells coated with goat anti-rabbit antibody and incubated for 30 minutes. The glyphosate enzyme conjugate is then added and incubated for 60 minutes. At this point any glyphosate in the sample competes with the glyphosate enzyme conjugate for binding to the antibody coated on the microtiter well. After a washing step and addition of substrate and stop solutions, a yellow color is generated with an intensity inversely proportional to the amount of glyphosate in the sample.
The glyphosate test kit has been used for diverse matrices such as water, soil, human urine and serum, lentils, white beans, soy beans, corn, wheat and barley, potatoes, avocados, rose stems, honey and corn syrup, tofu, soy sauce, tea leaves, gelatin, ground oats, pureed baby food, cereal, chips, grapes, wine and grape juice, beer, milk, bread, dried pasta.
